Black Oxide
Sometimes called blackening, is a conversion coating for ferrous materials, stainless steel, copper and copper based alloys, zinc, powdered metals, and silver solder.
It is used to add mild corrosion resistance, aesthetic enhancement and to minimise light reflection whilst maintaining the dimensional integrity of close tolerance parts with increased durability.
Black oxide coatings are widely used in the machine tool, automotive, appliance and general forming industries.
JMC ensure the five basic steps for the black oxide coating process (clean; rinse; black oxide; rinse; supplementary coating) are undertaken under strict control to produce a coating which meets your expectations whilst still competitively priced.
